ABBA Hits

Kiss the Teacher ABBA tribute perform many ABBA hits and we thought we should share with you some of our favourite ABBA Hits to perform.

ABBA, A quartet made up of Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Became the biggest band in the world for a decade with the group's European-inspired disco hits and with ABBA growing more ambitious with their sounds as they progressed with hit after hit.

When tensions arise inside the band you would not know as the ABBA Singers continued with their faultless vocals & the results were brilliant pop tracks that boast a deeper, intertwined story. Still as we write this ABBA's Hits define a golden-age of disco and dance music, but the Swedish fab 4's songs represent much more than just feel-good floor fillers.

10 ABBA hits that have undeniably stood the test of time & are some of our ABBA singers favourites to perform.

10. ABBA - "Does Your Mother Know"

While most ABBA Hits classicsare based around the female ABBA Singers Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad's harmonies, Does your mother know from 1979 saw Bjorn Ulvaeus taking the lead for one of the band's fun singles. Bjorn details flirting with a much younger lady & backed by the Female ABBA Singers with some expert harmonies on a great piano led ABBA Hit.

9. ABBA - "Chiquitita"

This song that showed ABBA could haveinternational hit, "Chiquitita" (Spanish term for a woman meaning "little one") This is thetrack that helpedramp upABBA's global appeal with 3 versions recorded in Swedish, English and Spanish ,With the verses & chorusshowcasing the group's brilliant ability to jump from soothsayers to power-pop belters.

8. ABBA - "S.O.S."

Bjorn Ulvaeus said "S.O.S." was a key single in ABBA's finding its musical identity, which becomes clear in the song's brilliant progression of a tender, minor key on the verses led ABBA Singer Faltskog's heartbreaking alto before jumping to its athematic, major-key chorus. With great use of synthesizer and keyboard only further set the song's ominous tone that sees the ABBA singer Faltskog passionately pleading to her lover, "The love you gave me / Nothing else can save me, S.O.S."

7. ABBA - "Money Money Money"

Another ABBA hit, with Money Money Money ABBA's singers get to have some super-fun with this 1976 single where you can hear the group getting playlful with their delivery and shouting about if only, "They had a lot of money!"

6. ABBA - "Super Trouper"

From 1980 "Super Trouper" brings one of ABBA's biggest hits which is about a Spotlight (Follow Spot) with the chrous that begs to be sung along with,This is a very cleverly written ABBA hitwith its choral-like opening which is the start of this ABBA hit right through to the staccato elements in the addictive chorus.

5. ABBA - "Mamma Mia"

A true ABBA classic. Recorded in 1975 While its place is undoubtedly set in history - from the long-running Broadway musical and its Merryl Streep–led films, Ultimately stands as a gem amongst ABBA's Hits, Having said it's not the most innovative or musically impressive output from ABBA.

4. ABBA - "One of Us"

Probably the best ABBA hit that represented the love stories that surrounded the quartet's time together, "One of Us" was written by Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson and was created by their divorces to the ABBA singers Faltskog and Lyngstad. The song was change in style but still featured uplifting harmonies on the heartbreaking chorus ("One of us is crying / One of us is only / Waiting for a call... / Wishing she had never left at all") to capture this emotion is what that makes this ABBA hit sound so good.

3. ABBA - "Knowing Me Knowing You"

Recorded in 1976 but released in 1977Does any other ABBA hit have a better chorus than "Knowing Me Knowing You," ?The chorus which begs to be sung when those drums hit ahead of the mix of power chords, guitar riffs. Did you know that this ABBA hit details a breakup years before the divorces of the ABBA members?

2. ABBA - "Take a Chance on Me"

This 1981 ABBA hit single showed off the true musical ability of ABBA, with the ABBA singers nailing the opening (Even Bjorn and Benny's voices featured!) This indicated a innovative way to begin another hit. "Take a Chance on Me" blends the band's classic sound with synthesizer moments and reverb-heavy harmonies, It could almost be separate songs intertwined together with the ABBA hit magic they only knew how to create.

1. ABBA - "Dancing Queen"

ABBA's most popular hit "Dancing Queen" is the the "ABBA hit" that's continued long after the disco era to become a modern-day dance music standard. This 1976 classic is an wonderful piece of pop music that gets the room moving from the opening notes. "Dancing Queen" stands not only as Abba's classic tune, but shows just what the Swedish sensations could bring to any song and how the ABBA hits remain just as touching today as they did originally in the '70s and '80s.

Abba Tribute Band Kiss the Teacher have been performing since 2000 and for 9 years toured the UK holiday parks & performed in Hotels, Tribute nights along with our frequent trips abroad, At the end of 2009 with both our ABBA singers about to start a family it was decided to take a hiatus, This hiatus lasted until 2017 when our original Benny once more came back performing across the UK with Kiss the Teacher.
